Colleges of Distinction’s new award highlights excellent support services for students from outside the United States

The “International College of Distinction” accolade highlights Rider’s efforts and commitment to ensuring its international students thrive during their academic journeys. It also acknowledges the school’s efforts in offering academic resources that promote success.
“International students enrich our campus community through their diverse perspectives and cultural insights, and we're so proud to be recognized for the many efforts we make to support them,” says Kim Algeo, the director of Rider’s Office of International Education. “Our commitment to them includes providing the guidance, tools and resources necessary to help them thrive academically and also feel at home.”
This fall, ߲ݴý welcomed its largest international class in over a decade, with 84 new students joining from 30 different countries. In total, Rider’s student body represents 65 countries. These achievements are made possible through a dedicated international admissions staff that provides crucial guidance on visas and orientation and numerous educational partnerships from around the world. A new partnership with MPower is also designed to help international students access loans to make college more affordable.
“Rider has shown that it prioritizes the success of all of its students, from those in its state to those coming from around the world,” says Colleges of Distinction Chief Operating Officer Tyson Schritter.
Since 2000, Colleges of Distinction has honored schools with a strong focus on the undergraduate experience. Its website offers college profiles, customized tools and resources for students, parents and high school counselors.
This recognition is one of several recent acknowledgments Rider has received for its commitment to international student success. The University was also recognized by Research.com in the , reflecting its dedication to academic excellence and placing Rider among the top institutions for business education.
